I once worked for a retail company that made it a point not to sell any black colored clothing. Their reasoning? The color could too easily be dressed up into a formal look, which went against their casual and cool beach vibe aesthetic..
Guess what, that same company has since changed their marketing strategy and now sells black clothing. Guess what again, it’s where my lace camisole is from. I mean, they were right, because black is often associated with formal events, and automatically classes up any outfit. Just imagine what an all black outfit will do for you.
Style tip #1:
I’ve mentioned in several posts now that an easy way to put together an outfit is to go monochromatic, which means that each article of clothing is within the same color family.
Style tip #2:
When going monochromatic, mix up textures and fabrics to add dimension. The color is what makes it cohesive.
This outfit consists of a leather jacket, patent leather pumps, satin and lace camisole, layered mesh tulle skirt, and cotton face mask. Experiment with different textures until you find something you like!
Speaking of texture, this tulle skirt is one of my favorites. So much so that I also own it in pink. It is super full and fluffy and I always feel like a ballerina princess when I wear it. The black one was gifted by Chicwish, but I would have bought it regardless because I love all their tulle skirts. The quality is top notch and the designs and silhouettes will make any girly-girl’s heart flutter.
